PROJECT OVERVIEW

There are 3 phases of Video Production: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. Here is a snapshot of what each phase will include and what we’ll need from you:

Pre-Production

  • Your School uploads Schedules, Maps and Scouting Photos/Videos to your Sandman Films Client Portal (via Google Drive).

  • SF and MCPSA review your uploads and follow up with questions.

  • We collaboratively select the spaces in your School in which filming will occur.

  • We collaboratively create a schedule for the Filming Day.

  • SF and MCPSA prepare a list of interview questions and share them with you well in advance of filming so that your Interviewees know what to expect.

  • Your School completes a simple Logistics Questionnaire that provides us with information regarding parking, loading in equipment, etc.

Production

  • One day of Filming occurs at your School. A typical Filming Day is 10 hours or less, beginning when our crew arrives at your location and ending when we drive off at the end of the day.

  • On the day of filming, a small crew (usually consisting of 2-4 people) will arrive early in the morning and load equipment into your building using rolling carts. These carts accompany us throughout the day as we move from room to room. It is always helpful to have a representative from your School meet us in the morning and be with us as much as possible on Filming Day.

  • We will conduct all Interviews inside a single room in your School using a medium-sized Lighting Setup.

  • We will Film a blend of Natural and “Staged” B-Roll Scenes inside and outside your school as appropriate.

Post-Production

  • If you have DIY Footage please upload to your Client Portal

  • You will have two opportunities to review edits in progress and request changes.
